Rocket to the Moon
Why this is important
In music and in life it is important to know where we are, where we are going how to get there and when to start. Basically be oriented in space and time. The game gives the embodied experience of start something, starting at a precise time, and going to a precise destination.
Rocket to the Moon
Students start on a line of color mats. They have to know which color that start on.
A large jump rope in swung in front of them ( in the count down pattern). THen the rope swings high and they have to run under it while the window is open. They have to run to another line of mats and land on the color that they started with.
Level 2 THey run with a partner.
Each rotation they move up a square, they swing the rope or 'pool noddle'.
<This exciting approach not only captures children's imaginations but also reinforces the importance of synchronization in a playful way.
