Player accompanies the Band

Purpose of this lesson:

While doing a game such as 'The Wiggles' or 'Animals Frolics'In this game, one player (or several players) has a turn to accompany the Leader.

They have a special job that has both privileges and responsibilities. They get to play a cool instrument, they get to be in the spotlight, and they get to lead the group. They also have the responcibility to help serve the group with a clear start, support the movement and end on time.

The students develop confidence and learn to stay grounded in front of a group.

This game allows students to try different instruments.

Everyone in the group gets to participate.

By having the role of leading or following, students can learn to appreciate the function of leadership.

Students gradually learn to play in a group, and to listen to each other and hear what is appropriate to play.

Students can genuinely have fun doing this game. They move, make music, and interact. It can feel more like a party and celebration than just a 'class'.
