Toss A Bean Bag- To Self - One Hand

Purpose:

Hand eye coordination and timing.

Grasping.

Calm Attention

Directions:

Set very clear parameters.

"Place your hand on the top of your head. Move it straight out in front of you.

You are allowed to toss up to this high. If you toss higher, you crossed the line and will loose your bean bag."

Toss with Right Hand, Catch with Right Hand

Toss with Left Hand, Catch with Left Hand

Toss with Left Hand, Catch with Right Hand

Toss with Right Hand, Catch with Left Hand

Raise and lower the bean bag slow enough that the bag stays in the hand.

Raise the hands fast enough so that the bean bag is tossed up about an inch.

Raise the hands fast enough so that the bean bag is tossed up 3 inches. [picture  this much]

Raise the hands fast enough so that the bean bag is tossed up 6 inches.

Toss the bean bag 6 times in a row with out dropping it.

Level 2: Toss a Bean Bag to Self while on a Balance Board

Glitches:

  • Student keep dropping the bean bag
    1. Teach them to grasp the bag. Have them hold it in their hands. "I am going to pull on bean bag. I want you to hold onto it and don't let go."
  • Students throw too high
    1. Take away their bean bag with as little energy and drama as possible.
