Pass a Large Ball around the Circle - Receive, Bounce, Pass

Purpose:

Contact, Cooperation, Coordination particularly with peers / other students.

Hand eye coordination and timing.

Understanding the mechanics timing and physics of the bounce.

Set a pattern of having your turn to do something. This is good practice in tolerating performing while in the spot light and letting go of the spot light.

Directions:

Depending on how well regulated students are and how coordinated they are, this exercise can be done sitting cross legged or standing.

Have students on a specific marker.  Student has a ball passed to them. They bounce  it one time and catch with both hands. Then they pass it to the next person.

Pass an instrument around the room- play a particular 'piece' such as pluck each string on a ukulele or lap harp.
